This organization was born from a shared passion between husband and wife—Chesarae Hamlin, a lifelong advocate for family and community wellness, and Khristopher Hamlin, a seasoned real estate professional devoted to transforming lives through homeownership.

Why We Started

For years, we saw the devastating impact of housing instability—how vacant homes weaken neighborhoods and how financial hardship can rob families of their peace and future. Chesarae’s vision was to create something powerful: a nonprofit that doesn’t just talk about change but builds it—literally. With her heart for service and Khris’s expertise in real estate, they joined forces to breathe life back into Maryland and Washington, D.C.’s overlooked communities.

Together, we launched Hamlin H.O.P.E. to acquire and restore vacant properties and offer them to families who need them most. Each home we rehabilitate becomes more than just a structure—it becomes a foundation for generational change.
